  Edwards To Race MotoGP In 2008

  2009 it is then.
  While there hasn't been an official release (expect one after Motegi) American Colin Edwards II will be racing in Europe in 2008 and will not race US Superbike.
  
  Hopes were raised that he'd be in US Superbike this week when Edwards put in an appearance at Yamaha's annual dealer show, this one held in Orlando.
  
  Edwards will race for Yamaha next season. Essentially he stays under contract to Yamaha, gets the same big salary, perks and the like, but is loaned to the Tech 3 squad where he will team with James Toseland; the two are former Castrol Honda teammates.
  
  The factory Yamaha MotoGP team will be Valentino Rossi and new sign Jorge Lorenzo.
  
  Unless the series goes to a spec tire rule with Bridgestones supplying the grid, Edwards will again ride on Michelin tires.
  
  Edwards hasn't given up on finishing his career here in the US. Don't be surprised to see him race here in 2009.
